Position Overview

BayCare Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to join the Northside Behavioral Health Center's FACT (Flexible Assertive Community Treatment) team in Tampa, Florida. The FACT model is designed to provide comprehensive community-based treatment to individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the FACT Psychiatrist will play a vital role in delivering recovery-oriented, strengths-based, and person-centered care to program participants.

 

Community-Based Care Delivery:

  • Provide psychiatric services in community settings, including participants' homes, workplaces, or other preferred locations.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications as appropriate, with a focus on symptom management and recovery.
  • Conduct regular follow-up visits to monitor treatment progress and adjust interventions as needed.

Collaboration and Consultation:

  • Work closely with Peer Support Specialists, Case Managers, Master Level Clinicians, Nurses, and other team members to coordinate care.
  • Utilize a transdisciplinary approach to deliver comprehensive care, integrating psychiatric treatment with other support services.
  • Collaborate with community partners, including primary care providers and other mental health agencies, to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification in Psychiatry
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Florida
  • Experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses preferred
  • Strong commitment to recovery-oriented, person-centered care
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications

Position requires: Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 2 years of eligibility) in General Psychiatry, experienced preferred.
