Position Overview

BayCare Medical Group is seeking an Adult Outpatient Psychiatrist to join our BayCare Behavioral Health team at Northside Behavioral Health Center in sunny Tampa, FL. This position offers the unique opportunity to practice clinically as well as mentor 3rd year residents. As the largest full-service, community-based healthcare system in the Tampa Bay area, we offer a variety of services across Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, and Polk counties. Our Behavioral Health team provides a full range of comprehensive services for mental health and addiction issues, catering to the needs of children, adults, and families.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Patient Care (50%):

• Conduct outpatient psychiatric evaluations and assessments for adult patients.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on clinical assessments.
• Provide ongoing psychiatric care and medication management as needed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.

 

Supervision (50%):

 

• Supervise 3rd year residents in providing psychiatric care to both adult and child/adolescent patients.
• Review and oversee treatment plans developed by residents.
• Offer guidance and support to residents in their clinical practice.
• Ensure compliance with relevant medical and ethical standards.

 

Collaboration and Communication:

 

• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and support staff.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure coordinated and patient-centered care.

 

Training and Education:

 

• Provide educational support to 3rd year residents, sharing knowledge and expertise in the field of adult psychiatry.
• Stay abreast of advancements in psychiatry and contribute to the continuous learning environment.

 

Qualifications:

 

• Board certification or eligibility in general psychiatry.
• State medical license and DEA registration.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
