Position Overview

BayCare Medical Group, the largest and most respected physician-led medical group in the Tampa Bay area, has an exciting opportunity available for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hematology/Oncologist for our brand-new Manatee HealthHub location - an innovative outpatient facility scheduled to open in Summer 2026, marking BayCare’s expansion into this dynamic new market.  This 45,000 square-foot-facility will be housed on the campus of BayCare’s newest hospital – BayCare Hospital Manatee, a 154-bed facility scheduled to open in 2028.

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hematology/Oncology Physician to lead the launch of a new practice with the goal to build early volume, and lay the foundation for a future cancer program that is competitive and comprehensive.
  • Establishing hematology/oncology services before the hospital opens allows us to begin cultivating referral relationships, connect with patients at the start of their treatment journey, and grow brand recognition in a specialty where trust and continuity are critical.  This early footprint will be critical to ensuring a strong patient base is in place by the time the hospital opens.
  • In addition to clinic visits, the hematologist/oncologist will begin to build a patient panel requiring chemotherapy and infusion services. Until the hospital opens, infusion volumes will be directed to St. Joseph's Hospital-South.
  • The Manatee Health-Hub facility will house primary care and specialty services, in addition to ancillary lab and imaging services including 3T MRI, X-ray, CT, PET CT, mammography, DEXA and ultrasound.

Qualifications

  • Board Certification / Board Eligibility by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology.
  • The ability to obtain a Florida medical license.
